Sunday Morning Vintage Breakfast Table

I pulled out this vintage tablecloth for breakfast this morning. It's over 50 years old and still in great shape. Even the colors are still vibrant.
It also went nicely with the big bouquet of lilies I made yesterday.
I used my golden yellow marbled glass charger.

Then I spent a moment studying the tablecloth colors to decide which color dinner plate to use.

I opted for dark green.

Then topped the green with some old Royal china.

It was a quick and cute breakfast table.

After breakfast I noticed a blueberry stain on the tablecloth. I thought I would tend to it immediately with this stain remover that I have used successfully on many clothing items.

Big mistake!
The chemicals immediately ate right through the fabric. I mean like instantly.

There was no hole here before I tried to remove the stain. This lovely old tablecloth has survived over half a century and I ruined it in less than one minute. *Big Sigh* I can't bear to throw it away. I am thinking I can still use it if I cover the hole with a big bowl of fruit or something.

Tonight I plan to use these new wild plates for a dinner table. I will post it in a few days.

I hope you all enjoy the remainder of your weekend.

Love the tablecloth.
How pretty the vintage patterns and colors are!
Fun...
Oh how sad that the cloth got a hole in it. I am so sorry. It is just so pretty. I would use it, just place something over it and continue to enjoy it. Hugs, Marty

So sorry about that hole - its such a pity. There is a product which you use for instant darning, isn't there - I forget its name - the patch you put on the undersurface and iron over? Maybe after that you can still use it while covering up the affected area?
